Sushi Tei Spotlight

Sushi Tei Spotlight
Originally uploaded by Makantime.
Interesting how this shot turned out to look like Mac's Tiger OS new feature, Spotlight. This is actually Sushi Teh's new BIG menu. It's so big, that it actually goes against japanese stuff that are usually miniature. Quick impractical. Perhaps they are just trying to make the tiny sushi look bigger and nicer?

Having said all that, I kinda think Sushi Tei is one of the better sushi trains around. One of my favourites is the Sashimi Salad. The dressing is nice and tangy and it goes really well with all the raw fish and stuff.

This pizza place is found is some really ulu place off bukit timah road. Greenwood Avenue. This Peperoni Pizzeria there is really quite popular. My sentences are really terrible and I wonder how I got A2 for GP in A Levels hehe. (my gf is complaining about my terrible english as i blog this).

It was such a funny night, laughing like crazy with ailin, pierre and john. The funniest thing has to be the Ice Water that costs $200!!!!!!! So our bill came up to a grand total of $2042. $42 for the 21" pizza and $2000 for 10 cups of Ice Water of which I had 4.

WA!!!!

p.s. thanks john for recommending this great place and taking this photo with your ultra sleek Razor.
p.p.s. Saw Lana Cake shop and a fish and chips shop and other stylo milo eateries along Greenwood. Can't wait to go back and check it out.

Eugene & You Tiao

Eugene & You Tiao

Eugene's back from... see his T-Shirt and so is the complimentary You Tiao from uncle fish soup. (in a super large bowl) Sometimes, we have to wait a while for our fish soup, so to prevent our rumbling stomachs from disturbing fellow customers, we sometimes get free servings of You Tiao that is leftover from breakfast. Eugene has got to be uncle's fav as he always ask, and most of the time he gets. Xie Xie Uncle!

Seafood Maggi Mee WITHOUT Egg

Seafood Maggi Mee WITHOUT Egg
Originally uploaded by Makantime.
I love maggi mee. It's my favourite supper. I also like maggi mee goreng which seems to be a total waste of money at the prata shop. Anyways, this is from the fish soup uncle. Normally I like to have my seafood maggi mee WITH egg as adding an egg is free of charge. Randy ordered for me, and didn't ask for me, and I am totally fine with that. The funny thing was when uncle served my lunch, he annouced loudly this is Hai Xian Maggi Mee Bu Yao Ji Dan! After eating from uncle for almost 4 years, this is the first time I heard him annouce that. Haha! Also good lah, healthier hehe. :P

This is the nickname of my fav lunch spot in Geylang. My colleagues and I just got into a tradition of naming our food joints according near such establishments that are near them. So when we say Parawan, it would usually mean, duck rice! Yummy! See previous post for duck rice. This is the view I have when eating seafood maggi mee at another popular coffee shop along Lor 25A Geylang.

Mini Cornetto

Mini Cornetto
Originally uploaded by Makantime.
This is a new one. For fans of cornetto on a diet, presenting mini cornettos! Looks like the iPod mini even has impact on our favourite ice cream cones. These are simply delight full. You can finish one cone is just a few bites. In fact, the ice cream here is softer and creamier and the cones are sweeter. Great party ice cream snacks to serve. Someone said tonight at BS, 'Our BS is about eating'. Haha. :P Wanna join? Thanks to the Khaw family for your hospitality!

Watermelons!

Watermelon
Originally uploaded by Makantime.
The weather has been hot and wet. Well, for hot days, there's no other fruit better than watermelons! We had these after a rather humid evening of bible study and it was really refreshing. There were all cut up like trees so it's really great for handling and popping it into the mouth like an ice cream cone.

But the best place I had watermelons was in Burma. I remember pulling over the roadside stall to buy quite a few. It was all largely cut up and we ate the whole melon as we drove along. Being a typical singaporean, I held all the watermelon seeds in my hand after every mouth full. I then asked the locals where to throw them without realising that they have been 'sowing' watermelons along the way as they were eating! I then uncomfortably joined in, spitting my watermelon seeds as I was eating and moving along. And for a singaporean, it was a somewhat 'liberating' experience! Haha. Can't do that here in Singapore though. CWO.

Jerry's BBQ Addy

Jerry's BBQ Ad
Originally uploaded by Makantime.
The unit no. is 277. Came back slightly after 10 from dinner. Mother's day and there was a big crowd. The menu is also different. Had the Premium Lamb Grill, good. Dad had the ribeye and of course we had the deep fried mushrooms and buffalo wings. Great appetizers. The set came with clam chowder soup, garlic bread and we ended off with 2 desserts each, brownie with ice cream and tiramisu. Only the coffee at the end is keeping my otherwise really full stomach and body from falling asleep whilst typing this.

Buffalo Wings
These wings come in 3 varieties of 'hotness'. I've yet to try to Chef's challenge. So far it's been Intensi Fire!

Prawn Pork Rib Mee @ Macpherson

Ordering Prawn Pork Rib Mee
Originally uploaded by Makantime.
This morning's breakfast was really good. Went down to Macpherson, near Jackson's kopitiam and had this fantastic prawn noodle with pork rib. Randy, our drummer, ordered for us. I had bee hoon and mee. The nice thing about this bee hoon is the diameter. It's not as thin as the normal one and not as thick as those rough bee hoon in laksa. Lots of chilli powder too. Delicious. Got all of stomachs rumbling from all the spicy goodness. Great breakfast to wake up to.

Students love macs! I've been sitting at Junction 8 Macs for a few hours and the students just keep coming in and chomping down their fries, burgers and cokes. Amazing. There are so many students here that it feels like a singapore school's canteen. Wonder what it'll be if students start liking the macs that are pictured above. :)

Happy Macing.

p.s. Oh, I had a big mac meal too.
